More about the issue

It is well documented that newcomers to Canada face many barriers to meaningful employment, including a lack of fluency in English / French, limited Canadian job experience, and restricted access to professional networks to access job opportunities.

Toronto’s tech community has an opportunity to change this status quo in a meaningful way. By tapping into newcomer talent, tech firms could not only address talent gaps, but also make a meaningful contribution to the integration of newcomers to Canada, and bolster their CSR credentials.
